Cameron Park
Glimpses of the past can be found in Cameron Park such as visible sights of grinding rocks and burial mounds of the Niesnan branch of the Maidu Indians. With another look into the past, some structures of the Skinner Winery from 1865 can be seen at the corner of Green Valley Road and Cameron Park Drive. Cameron Park was conceived as a community to meet many needs and continually strives for that goal.
Cameron Park is a fairly new community in El Dorado County. The 50s brought visionary Larry Cameron to purchase the 5,000 foothill acres that now encompass Cameron Park for ranching purposes. Throughout the years, with some help, Cameron divided his land into lots of varying sizes. Today, Cameron Park reflects a diverse scope of interests, with ranch-sized properties, medium and high-density residential, shopping areas, a championship country club, recreational lake and the Cameron Airpark Estates. Cameron Park offers a wide variety of housing types and prices ranging from a single-family home that begins in the mid $100,000s to $1 million and up for larger estate properties.
Shingle Springs
Originally Shingle Springs was an early, bustling, California gold mining settlement. Naturally it has evolved into a peaceful country community with ranches and homes on acreage. There are unlimited recreational activities that are less than two hours away driving distance. Residents relax in the peaceful nature of the town that radiates it's small-town charm, yet has access to all the amenities of a larger city. Premier wineries, Apple Hill Ranches, Historic Coloma, the American River and the El Dorado National Forest are all located within a few miles of the city. Larger estate properties can find themselves with a magnificent view of the beautiful land.

The history of Shingle Springs is summed up by boom, bust, boom. In the early 1850's, gold was discovered in the area. The people rushed to stake their claim. As their claims failed, the miners began to move on. Despite their losses, cattle ranchers and farmers saw the value in these hills and continued to support the area. The first post office was established in 1853, and the first general store nearly 12 years later. 1866 brought the Sacramento Valley Railroad Shingle Springs. The town boomed with the trains and stages departing daily. The town became one of the busiest business centers in California. Unfortunately the year of 1867 found the railroad a new route through Auburn. With some of the area residents moving on, many in the town decided to stay and develop Shingle Springs' community. On May 11, 1865, the town's name was changed to Shingle and it stayed that way until 1955, when it became Shingle Springs once again.
